Online “Summer” Cleaning Part 1 – Facebook

One of the best things about Facebook is being able to connect with old and new friends; and one of the worse things about Facebook is connecting with old and new friends. To that end, the biggest step in cleaning up your Facebook account is pruning your friends list. It is going to be tedious, especially if you have the lazy desire to just accept anyone who asks, but the following steps will help you trim up that list in no time!

1. Create general lists for your friends. For Example: Work Friends, Church Friends, School Friends, Family, etc.  Why? Well, there is the obvious reason to keep certain things private…for example, you may not want to share the pictures of you on the beach in a bikini with everyone at work but the family is fine. There is also the added bonus of being able to send messages and invites to a group of friend by simple selecting the whole list instead all the individuals.

2. Set the permissions for the friends lists. Make sure you choose the global permission settings that you want for each list like who can see your wall and photos.

3. Start filling the lists! This is the pain staking process of going though all your friends and puttin them on a list!
