Dead to the World

Actually, in retrospect, that probably isn’t the most appropriate title for the subject of this post, but changing it would mean having to tab backwards and I didn’t get a whole lotta sleep so maybe I will just leave it as it is….The reason I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep was because around 3:30 my sister awakened me with the news that our mom was in the hospital. Now, I am not what you would call a light sleeper…I pretty much tend to zonk out and become oblivious to anything going on around me such as a burning building, police sirens, etc. In fact, I have actually had entire conversations with people who woke me up when I was dead out and didn’t remember them until days later….
All that is to say this: if you actually manage to get me up at 3:30am, chances are I am going to be a bit on the groggy side. But let me tell you, nothing, NOTHING, wakes you up like hearing that your mom is in the hospital! Fortunately, it looks like she is going to be ok…She had some severe back pain and had gotten up in the middle of the night to try and walk some of it off and when her back spasmed, she fainted. She was a little banged up but no broken bones or anything to badly bruised (Thank You Lord). They are going to run some tests today to try and figure out what is causing the back pain but other than that we are in a holding pattern…
