january
I started the year with a lot of uncertainty about the future but thankful for an awesome God and my incredible wife. I left an awesome creative team and elementary crew, stepping out in faith with my wife to follow what God had called me in media and us as a couple.

february
Wrapped up Pre-Production on iShine KNECT Season 2 and started to gear up for 3 weeks of shooting. Shot a short film called “Adoptation” for the 168 festival and had almost 12 inches of snow on the morning of the shoot! Got a call from Chris W wanting to tell me about a new media company called You+Media, that was looking for freelancers.

march
Wrapped up Production on iShine and returned home to see what God had next. After being home for just one week, I started to do half-day freelance projects for You+Media. And then I left again for Drew and Megan’s Cajun/Scottish wedding; what a shindig!

april
Signed a full-time, freelance contract with You+Media; started to really dig into the 7D and lenses. I began to realize what it truly meant to put your wife First in priority and time. Entered into the USA network’s 48-hour film festival and drew the one category I didn’t want: Horror. But, all things work together and the team was top notch. I loved the great redemptive themes from the film; Dark, but redemptive.

may
My love for my wife has grown exponentially over the last 4 months and I have so much to learn from her. “Sanctuary” went from being an awesome film to being a 4-time award winning awesome film.

june
Finished one of my favorite pieces to date for the Dallas Police Department Memorial. You+Dallas.com launched this month and we officially went live! I also became a full-time employee at You+Media. Thanks to Justin R, I renewed my enthusiasm for the US Soccer team. My infatuation for IT Crowd has also begun.

july
Becky and I made our first summer pilgrimage back to the Dabney Ranch in Colorado where we first fell in love. We shared our 4th year wedding anniversary at the Ranch with family and friends. Emili moved in with us after graduating from college and began her internship with You+Media.

august
Played with the Creative Arts Camp Drama Team at Prestonwood for 3 days. This was my favorite time of year when working at P’wood. Marcelle and Dawn are unbelievable. Becky and I are growing deeper each month; thank you Lord for such a partner. Jeremy W and Aaron G have started doing freelance work at You+Dallas and are amazing.

september
Emili moved into her new apartment; Becky and I started the simple “weekend project” of replacing all the tile in the living room. We finished 2 months later after two weekends of demo, relaying the concrete underlayment, twice, and cutting all the custom wood and trim.

october
Rekindled my love for Rangers baseball…yeah, I maybe a fair weather fan but I have been a Nolan Ryan fan since I was 12. You+Dallas.com continues to climb in viewership and unique hits.

november
Voted this month; we all know how that went. Didn’t shave. I am amazed daily by God’s goodness and my wife’s patience and love. We found out my mom’s mom has a brain tumor and my dad’s mom is in renial failure; but God is good. We spent Thanksgiving in Florida with my Dad and extended family.

december
We celebrated our first, real Christmas as the house; we raised the bar by decorating 2 Christmas trees and lining the roof with lights. Both of my grandmothers are still with us, thankfully. God has been gracious this year in so many ways with a job, with my family, but especially in my marriage. This year has been one of trial and trust but without my wife, I would not be the believer, artist, or man that I am today.
