Blessings…

There is something that really pisses Satan off when God blesses us….almost as much as it pisses him off when we cherish those blessings. I have recently been giving a blessing I am far from deserving and pray for the guidance, discernment, leadership, and humility to cherish her as a daughter of His.

Another thing that really irritates him is when we are persistent in following the calling that God has places on our life. In Romans, Paul teaches us that it is direction, not perfection, that The Spirit longs for. We will never be perfect on earth, but if our lives show us perusing Him as much as we can and we are constantly moving for a deeper relationship with Him, then He will receive the glory.

I have always viewed a Blessing as something more divine than a gift. Although God can grant both, a Blessing is unexpected and given freely even if we deserve it or not. A gift can be taken away and the pleasure is lost. But a Blessing, its joy lies not in having it but in God who bestows it.

I guess that I always thought of a gift as something that we are given at birth versus something we receive down the road. Aotherwards, I would consider my talents with photography as a gift. I would consider my people personality a gift from the Lord.
