Ultimately, you must ask yourself where did the urge to create art come from? Is not everything in this world an intrinsically good thing that has been twisted by Satan so that it is no longer recognizable as good? I firmly believe that the desire to express ourselves in art (regardless of the outcome as Adam mentioned above) is not only god given but even more importantly God inspired!
The greatest artist in the history of mankind pales in comparison to the artistic creativity of the master of the atom, the galaxy, and the human body.

This is a great article on not only our responsibility to use our craft to make and actual change, but also the practicality of how to do it. Making films should never be about making the film for credit or self advancement. Rather making the film to enlighten, teach, or encourage other people. This is what separates us from most of secular media. Indeed, we should never work in any way for our own glory but solely for the glory of God. He is the one that gives us the gifts we use to preform any work; and the goal of any work should be to allow Him to work in our hearts and the hearts of others.

I tried for the longest time to come up with a suitable quip but for the life of me I can’t think of a single one…”The Big Fish has left the building.”; “The Big Fish has flown the coup.”; “The Big Fish has sunk”…see? None of these makes any sense…course that is probably because I have no idea who “The Big Fish” is…here I go rambling again.
The long and the short of it is that I am leaving Big Fish Films where I have worked for over 3 and a half years. It is bittersweet because I have become very comfortable/confident at where I am and what I can do at Big Fish. But the sweet part is awesome! I am going to be working as a Creative Director at Prestonwood Church in Plano. More specifically, I am going to be working with a creative team to produce the show, “Wright’s Direction“. I will also be responcible for the Sunday morning “Big City” (4-6th grades group time) live production. It is so exciting not only to be directing a sitcom and working with kids, but also to work with the extremely talented team of individuals that make up the creative team.
So this is the closing of one chapter, and the beginning of another. But through all the prayer and seek God’s guidance on whether or not to take this step, I have been so thankful for Becky. THis is the first big decision for us as a married couple. Becky was amazingly supportive while letting me lead our family (of two) forward where God is taking us. I am so incredible blessed to have a wife like her.

I am trying out yet another blogging program…this one is called Journal and it was recommended in the August 2007 edition of MacWorld.
UPDATE: I ran a few test on it such as posting with images, re-editing a post, etc. and I wasn’t impressed. It didn’t post the image and instead of posting a re-edit, it kept posting new entries. I DO like the look of the program and would probably use it to keep track of other writing besides Blogging…and I still need to see if maybe it will do what I need it to do in the blogging department but isn’t doing it right now because of user error…
