Engagement Pictures

Becky and I have taken our Engagement photos: Literally! We setup a Nikon with a remote trigger (if you look really close you can see it in my hand in one of the pictures) and shot a bunch of pictures….like over 160…so enjoy these few selects!
See them here!

A little bit of a reformat

I have been cleaning some of the macs off around the office. We needed to wipe some computers and reinstall the essential programs. Just for grins (and so I have somewhere to go back and double check) I am posting a list of basic programs that we put on the computers in the office…
~MSOffice
~Showbiz Budgeting
~Adobe Reader
~Toast 8
~Firefox
~Thunderbird
~Onyx

This is for our office computers. Obviously, our production computers also include photoshop, final cut, flash, ect.

Photo Journalism

I stumbled across this page on Flickr and enjoyed reading over it. If I had all the money I needed and could choose any profession I want, it would probably be photojournalism. There is something about capturing moments in time that speak timelessly that motivates me like few things do. Of course this is kinda funny considering how little time I actually get to go and do this kind of photography….

Wedding work

It has been pretty chilly lately. Becky and I have been working diligently on the weekends on various aspects of our wedding…below is a picture of her outside my apt on our way to work on the wedding budget and then catch a must needed movie. The check list is slowly being whittled down!!!

Wintery Weather

There Becky and I were at her very warm, very comfortable apartment on a gray sunday afternoon. The amazing homemade lunch was resting in our bellies and I was watching football while she was working on her computer. All of a sudden we were in the dark!! At first, we figured it was just a little outage…nothing to worry about. Then the minutes begin to tick off…there was a flicker of light after a few minutes, then nothing. 30 min……45 min……an hour and a half…..by this point the temperature inside was rapidly approaching the temperature outside. Then it dawned on us….if we didn’t act quickly we were going to miss IT. The highlight of our evening…24!!!! We threw (almost literally) Harley into the car with various clothes (I was doing laundry) and computers (we are geeks after all) and raced (at somewhere around 35 mph (the roads were icy) and just barely made it! It was a great episode too!!

p.s. Here is a video of Becky scraping the ice off of her car

5 things you didn’t know about me

I saw a similar post over here and liked the idea so I thought I would give it a whirl…”The rules are pretty straight forward. Write 5 things that people don’t know about you.”

1. I hate to shave. Actually this may not be a huge shocker to those of you who I see on a regular basis since I keep a health scruff at most times. There are very few things I will shave for: A funeral, A wedding, and the only other thing I will shave for is…anytime Becky wants me too ;)
2. I am an Avid Gator Fan even though I never attended UF. I will watch the boys no matter what the score or sport. I grew up going to the games and sitting in the stand until the 4th quarter when Drew and I can run up to the sky box. Sometimes if we were really lucky we would get to sneak up there for the whole game. University of Florida all the way!!!

3. I am a organized guy living in a dirty body. Ok, maybe that didn’t come out the way I meant it to…That is to say I love to be organized and clean but I always seem to be in a state of mess. I am somewhat addicted to binge cleaning. (I clean hardcore once every several weeks with little cleaning between)

4. I snuggle with my dog. Yeah, it is true. But if you new how snugly my dog is you would understand.

5. I had a really hard time putting this together. I know that is a wierd thing to list but I have had a difficult time thinking of things that people don’t know about me. Anyone who actually reads this will know at least two of the things on this list about me. I wouldn’t be surprised if most knew it all…

The Kilt

It is an international sign for the Scottish Nation, for Manliness, and most importantly for the question “What Are they wearing under there?” Well, it has come my time….I am ordering the Kilt that I will be getting married in! Now there have been other kilts before this very special one. These are pictures from the Celtic Festival in Bedford, Texas in October last year.

I am wearing a “UtiliKilt” which is a non-tartan kilt; anotherwards they are all solid colors with no clan affiliations. There are actually two Clan Carmichael tartans: the ancient and the modern. The tartan that is on the hanging Carmichael banner in the picture is the ancient tartan. It looks like the President of the Clan Carmichael USA, John Carmichael (who is standing next to me) is wearing the modern tartan. Also, the kilt I am wearing is one of the UtiliKilts. I CAN’T WAIT to wear my new kilt!!

Dead to the World

Actually, in retrospect, that probably isn’t the most appropriate title for the subject of this post, but changing it would mean having to tab backwards and I didn’t get a whole lotta sleep so maybe I will just leave it as it is….The reason I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep was because around 3:30 my sister awakened me with the news that our mom was in the hospital. Now, I am not what you would call a light sleeper…I pretty much tend to zonk out and become oblivious to anything going on around me such as a burning building, police sirens, etc. In fact, I have actually had entire conversations with people who woke me up when I was dead out and didn’t remember them until days later….
All that is to say this: if you actually manage to get me up at 3:30am, chances are I am going to be a bit on the groggy side. But let me tell you, nothing, NOTHING, wakes you up like hearing that your mom is in the hospital! Fortunately, it looks like she is going to be ok…She had some severe back pain and had gotten up in the middle of the night to try and walk some of it off and when her back spasmed, she fainted. She was a little banged up but no broken bones or anything to badly bruised (Thank You Lord). They are going to run some tests today to try and figure out what is causing the back pain but other than that we are in a holding pattern…
