This is a photo from a not-so-likely source but wow! This looks so much like my sister it is scary! This is my mom by the way. I didn’t even know they had color cameras when she was young! Just kidding mom….sort of…..

There are many things that I feel escape me…like why people in dallas drive as thought they have never seen rain or why it always seems that things happen in three’s…but on thing that I have been fortunate enough to discover is that my Becky loves me regardless (or maybe inspite of myself) with a God given love. She wants to support and encourage me when the days are the longest. I can’t thank you enough for this baby…

…But lately there has been a recent development in my life…well recent as of about 18 months ago…God led a young lady named Rebecca Howell across my path (or maybe He led me across her path…). My life hasn’t been the same since! She has taught me so much about God’s love for us, about leadership, and most importantly about the love that God gives us for each other.

Ok, so maybe God was just teaching me patience but it has started snowing again and it actually beginning to stick! Take a look at the pictures below…

the first step in snow of the year

this is baby’s first snow since belonging to me. I think it suites her well, especially since we just got her a new ice scrapper.

There are often times whey I think that I will never understand the first iota about women. I mean moms and sisters (and even cousins, laura) don’t count. I mean they aren’t like regular woman in my eyes….they are more like super-women. They seem to get me in a way most others don’t, and in general it is easy to figure out what they need or want when they need or want something…

I was working around on set and i hear everyone saying that it is snowing outside. Well, i refer you back to the point where i was working and everyone else had time to go out side and stare at the weather (can you sense the bitterness??:)) Anyway, by the time I was able to stick my head out the door the ’snow’ turned to frozen rain…needless to say VERY disappointing. Not just because it doesn’t snow very often in dallas, and not so much because it was going to be the first snow of the year, but more importantly, my boss swore up and down that there was no way we were going to get snow!! Ahh well….guess vengeance still belongs to God…=)

20 WAYS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LEVEL OF INSANITY

1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair
dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.

2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don’t disguise your voice.

3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with
that.

4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it “IN”.

5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over
their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.

6. In the memo field of all your checks, write “for smuggling diamonds”.

7. Finish all your sentences with “in accordance with the prophecy”.

8. Don’t use any punctuation.

9. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.

10. Order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat - with a serious face.

11. Specify that your drive-through order is, “to go!”

12. Sing along at the opera.

13. Put mosquito netting around your work area and play tropical sounds all
day at work.

14. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don’t rhyme.

15. Five days in advance, tell your friends you can’t attend their party
because you’re not in the mood.

16. Have your coworkers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Bottom.

17. When the money comes out the ATM, scream “I won! I won!”

18. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot yelling,
“run for your lives, they’re loose!!”

19. Tell your children over dinner “due to the economy, we are going to have
to let one of you go.”

20. Make someone smile (and read this blog:)

Its called therapy

We have to realize that we cannot earn or win anything from God through our own efforts. We must either receive it as a gift or do without it. The greatest spiritual blessing we receive is when we come to the knowledge that we are destitute. Until we get there, our Lord is powerless. He can do nothing for us as long as we think we are sufficient in and of ourselves. We must enter into His kingdom through the door of destitution. As long as we are “rich,” particularly in the area of pride or independence, God can do nothing for us. It is only when we get hungry spiritually that we receive the Holy Spirit. The gift of the essential nature of God is placed and made effective in us by the Holy Spirit. He imparts to us the quickening life of Jesus, making us truly alive. He takes that which was “beyond” us and places it “within” us. And immediately, once “the beyond” has come “within,” it rises up to “the above,” and we are lifted into the kingdom where Jesus lives and reigns (see John 3:5 ).

Lee, the lead food stylist, is placing selected leaves of field greens into mash potatoes, with the meat being covered in the background with wet paper towels to keep it from drying out under the shooting lights.
